Question: What do
I do to find all Oracle tables that have high activity?
I want to see all tables that experience high DML activity,
high volumes of insert, update and delete activity.
What is the script to display this?
Answer: The Oracle diagnostic pack
table dba_hist_seg_stat has information on high activity
tables in Oracle. This query against the dba_hist
tables will display all Oracle tables with high activity:
SELECT seg.begin_interval_time
,seg.end_interval_time
,o.object_type
,o.object_name
,o.subobject_name
,seg.db_block_changes_delta
FROM (
SELECT * FROM (
SELECT seg.snap_id
,seg.dataobj#
,ss.begin_interval_time
,ss.end_interval_time
,seg.db_block_changes_delta
FROM dba_hist_seg_stat seg
JOIN dba_hist_snapshot ss
ON seg.snap_id = ss.snap_id
WHERE ss.begin_interval_time >= TRUNC(SYSDATE)
AND ss.end_interval_time <= TRUNC(SYSDATE)+INTERVAL'4'HOUR
ORDER BY seg.db_block_changes_delta DESC
)
WHERE rownum <=15
) seg
JOIN dba_objects o
ON seg.dataobj# = o.data_object_id
ORDER BY db_block_changes_delta;
