Angel Park's Cloud Nine Golf Review

Independent Golf Tips for the professional at Leisure

December 2007

Angel Park Cloud Nine – The best par 3 in America?

If you are tired of shelling out $250 for play the too-busy Las Vegas designer courses, Angel Park might be right for you.  Angel Parks has several championship courses, but it’s most swell-known for their unique putting course and “Cloud Nine”, a super-fun 12 hole pitch and putt, where the holes and modeled after famous holes from across the globe.

The total green free with cart and rental clubs is only $45 each, and they have nice rental clubs, matching our Calloway X irons and White hot putters.  You may want to ask for a full set of wedges (pitching gap, sand and lob wedge), you are going to need them!

Just because Cloud Nine is “cute”, don’t underestimate the challenge.  The miniaturization creates an optical illusion, the traps can be chest high, and front-to-back, it fun and challenging for even the best golfer.

Cloud Nine has lots of bunnies, birds and critters, and it’s not uncommon to pull back a bush and find a family of jackrabbits staring up at you!  Each hole is a unique treats, a fanciful rendering of some of the worlds top courses:

Hole 1 - Replicates the famous double green at St. Andrews
Hole 2 – Valley of Sin at St. Andrews
Hole 3 – East Sussex National #16
Hole 4 – Monterrey Peninsula
Hole 5 – Pinehurst area
Hole 6 – Muirfield #13
Hole 7 – The postage stamp at Royal Troon #8
Hole 8 – Mad River #7
Hole 9 – Emerald Bay #3
Hole 10 - A reproduction of the famous island hole at TPC Sawgrass #17
Hole 11 – Riviera #6
Hole 12 – Redan at North Berwick Scotland #15

Play tips:

  • If you play, bring your full wedge set.  Many close-up shots are tight, and some require a early vertical drop to stick on the greens.

  • The sand traps vary widely, from fluffy to hard as packed dirt.

  • If you like to gamble, try a Nassau for $5 per stroke.  It’s great fund for golfers of all levels, a truly unique golf experience.
